Mid-Terrace Edwardian House – Thomas Lloyd

Mid-Terrace Edwardian House – Thomas Lloyd

The Obstacle:

Fire suppression system required to comply with building regulations for a loft-conversion and side-return extension in a mid-terrace Edwardian house. We wanted a discreet, effective system that would provide peace of mind and safe exit from loft out of front door in the event of a fire in our new, open-plan kitchen / diner.

The Resolution:

A very neat Vapourmist sprinkler and sensor system. There are two sprinklers – one for the kitchen, one for the dining area – and a pump and water tank neatly hidden in a cupboard under the sink. The heat and smoke sensors are mains connected and hardly noticeable on the ceiling.

The Outcome:

We feel very secure that we would have time to get out of the property safely, in an emergency, and day to day we have a clean downstairs aesthetic following our loft and side return extension project.
